Simplified pay slip: Are you ready?
The deadline is January 1, 2020. By this date, all companies must have implemented the clarified pay slip. Generalized since this year, this relief proposed by the government Valls II is part of the process of administrative simplification introduced by the State.
GoalsThis project was originally intended to meet two objectives set by the former President of the Republic: to make this document more understandable for each employee but also to make life easier for the company, particularly in terms of payroll management. Only a professional payroll services company can help you with that.
The Weak Points Of The Current Pay StatementThe pay slip, as we used to see it, had several weak points. Mentions and titles that were neither clear nor harmonized, which led to misunderstandings as to the calculation of the amount owed to the employee and paid by the employer.
What's Changing: More Readability And More Pedagogy For EmployeesThe new payslip will have its number of lines divided by two . The labels will now be clearer, with structuring by expense items. You will now find your employee contributions grouped into 5 distinct categories:
The clarified bulletin also shows all the exemptions from which employees can benefit. On the employer side, it shows the total amount of the contribution reductions. These are made possible by the provisions of the Pact of Responsibility and Solidarity for Employment and Purchasing Power . Mandatory since 1 January 2017 for companies with more than 300 employees, a study shows that 88% of employees surveyed appreciate their new payslip *. Employer side, nothing changes! The calculations and the structure are the same, it is just a modification of the final presentation of the pay statement.
Communication Within The CompanyThe ideal, as HRD, is to provide formal upstream communication to all employees. It is also advisable in the first months of the establishment, a permanence for the employees at the time of the distribution of the newsletters in order to answer their possible questions. To comply with this new legal requirement, be sure to work with software that complies with the new clarified pay statement template. Be aware that EBP payroll software responds to this legal novelty. Use the payroll services of an expert accounting company to be sure that you meet the criteria.
(*) According to a study conducted by the BVA institute among employees of pilot companies almost 9 out of 10 appreciated the payroll in its lighter version.
