Team work requires dedication on the part of the team. It also requires a great deal of tact on the part of the team leader. He should have the knack of getting the work done by the other members of the team. Knowing their responsibilities alone is not enough. They should perform their responsibilities as well. Only then do you have a great team working for you. Zachary Mikel Biddle is one such entrepreneur who believes that great teamwork can pay wonderful dividends. He is a great motivator who has fantastic stories each time his team finds itself in a tight spot. We shall share one such story that characterizes the style of leadership of Zachary Biddle San Diego. This story will liven up things a bit for you. Once, a young man was driving through the country roads in heavy rain. The car got stuck in front of a farmer’s house. There was a ditch covered with water that the man failed to notice. The front wheels of the car were submerged in the slush. It was admittedly difficult to pull the car out. The young man knocked at the farmer’s door for help. The farmer inspected the situation and remarked that Jack do could do the job for him. Naturally, the man was excited and wanted to see who this Jack was. He found out that Jack was a mule. He asked the farmer, “Are you sure your Jack will be able to pull me out.” The farmer replied excitingly, “Yes, Jack will do it for you.” The farmer and the young man then proceeded to take Jack and tie him to the car. Suddenly, the farmer started shouting, “James – Pull, Robert – Pull, Warwick – Pull Jack – Pull”. The young man was astonished that Jack gave all his effort and pulled the car out of the drain. He could not restrain himself from asking the farmer as to why he called out so many names when there was only one mule. The farmer replied, “Jack is an old blind mule. He has worked all his life in the company of the other three mules, James, Robert, and Warwick. Now, those mules are no more. Poor Jack does not know this fact. He still believes that they are working with him as a team. When he thinks in such a manner, why should I disturb him? I prefer to keep the team spirit running in spite of not having a team. Jack loves being part of this team.” The young man learned a valuable lesson that day. He understood the value of psychology in teamwork. Zach Biddle California is a master of using psychology to extract work from his team members. This is what motivation can do for you. Jack thinks that he is still part of a team and thus gives his full effort. Remember, the farmer is not cheating Jack in making him believe the presence of a false teamwork. He plays the psychology card to the hilt.
