White label involves a business obtaining products from a third party retailer or supplier and selling them as their own. White label products can save the business time and funds. For instance, instead of a restaurant curating their own sauce recipes, they can acquire sauces from a third party and sell them for a higher price point. Prior to incorporating white label products into a business, the business owner must make sure that their branding is strong and consistent. Three main parts of branding are credibility, advertising, and white label logo design.
Credibility
Businesses have to develop credibility and trust with their clients before expecting them to purchase any additional products. Developing a credible brand begins with the primary products and services that the business offers. Customers need to trust that anything they get from the business will be of a high quality that they cannot get from any other business.
Logo Design
In white label, business logo design is extremely important. As aforementioned, the logo of the business is placed on a product that the business obtained from another company. The logo is the first thing that the customer sees; if the customer has never purchased from the business before, the logo is likely a deciding factor for them. It is important that the logo design is simple enough to translate across platforms, but has enough elements that it belongs to the business entirely. For example, the “Coca-cola” label is simple, but easily recognizable due to it’s specific shade of red and the script that the name is written in.
Advertising
Advertising is a good way to reach new customers and to display new products to both new and old customers. The first step in advertising for white label is logo design. The next is determining what channels of advertising will reach the most of their target customers. For example, if most of the clientele is comprised of seniors and the business owner is happy with this, advertising solely on social media will not likely result in the intended result. If business owners are trying to attract a younger audience, social media advertisements can help, but they still may want to implement traditional ads for older clients. Additionally, it is important to use advertisements that are planned, designed and implemented with care. Poorly designed and implemented advertisements will stand out for all the wrong reasons.
